Something a little different

Yesterday I did something I've wanted to do for quite a while.

As you already know I shoot models (and some landscapes) and these are mostly female models. I have in the past shot a few males and couples but these have always been amateur models and usually couples who have asked me to shoot them together.

Well last night I got the opportunity to shoot a professional male and female model together. We covered a range of styles from part clothed and underwear to art nude.

All I can say is why did I want so long? they were absolutely awesome together, they are not partners in real life but worked effortlessly together and you would have assumed they had known each other for years.

The guy was over 6 feet tall and very muscular and the female petite and quite flexible, this combined to create some amazing poses. I managed to capture some but really need to repeat this to do it justice.

Anyway in the meantime I will get some images edited and posted on here.

In the near future I have a studio shoot booked with the awesome Laura so a few more of her to follow in the coming weeks and then it's Christmas so time for a break.

If I don't see you before then I'll wish you all a very Merry Christmas (or whatever type of festive holiday you celebrate!).

Thanks as always

You're old enough to kill but not for votin'
You don't believe in war but whats that gun you're totin'?

Recent Times

I wrote my last journal entry on Sunday 9th August 2015 and it's now Sunday 1st November, almost 3 months later.

Well there has been a reason for this gap.

When I wrote my last journal I had no idea how my life would change, starting just a few days later. Unfortunately someone very close to me fell ill shortly after I posted my last journal and sadly she passed away just over two weeks ago.

During this time she spent about 8 weeks in hospital before the final few days in the local hospice. All through this time she remained totally positive even when the most devastating news was delivered, I don't know where she got the strength from.

Towards the end she was unable to speak or swallow but thankfully the final few hours were peaceful.

Today is a strange place, this person has always just been there with advice and support. I guess life must carry on but loosing your mum is tough :(

Thanks as always

And I'm not a slave to a world
That doesn't give a shit

  6. What is your favourite type of art to create?  -  Photographic art nude, usually low key

    Female Nude No.82 by PixelPerfectPhotog

  9. What type of art do you tend to favourite the most?  -  Art nude photography, no surprise there then :D

  10. Who is your all-time favourite deviant artist?  -  This is a really tough one as there are so many awesome artists on here and it's almost impossible to pick just one. But I guess it would probably be britalicus.deviantart.com/ as his work is stunning

  11. If you could meet anyone on DeviantArt in person, who would it be?  -  Again this is almost impossible to pick just one person but I'll go for britalicus.deviantart.com/ so I could pick his brains and steal all his knowledge :)

  12. How has a fellow deviant impacted your life?  -  There is one person in particular that shall remain nameless who I have met because of dA. She has had both a good and bad effect on me. She did help improve my art nude photography, especially the location work. We still remain friends.

  13. What are your preferred tools to create art?  -  Nikon D90 and Photoshop

  14. What is the most inspirational place for you to create art?  -  I love wild and remote places which are unspoilt by man. The problem is that due to them usually being quite inaccessible I find that unsurprisingly models usually don't want to hike to them!

  15. What is your favourite DeviantArt memory?  -  Probably getting my first comment, this gave me such a buzz as I realized that there were people that actually liked and appreciated my work :)

Wow! That’s big!!

I’ve just been looking at my deviantART stats and realised that I’ve broken the 1 million image views…!!! Wow I feel honoured that so many people have taken the time to look at my work.

I’ve also seen that my most viewed image has been looked at 46,000 times and I now have over 1700 watchers. I know these figures are tiny compared to many here on dA but I just wanted to say a huge thank you to everyone who has taken the time to view, favourite and comment on my work.

I’ll keep going for my next million and hope you like the work I produce in the future.

Thanks as always

It was long ago and it was far away,
And it was so much better than it is today.

It never felt so good, it never felt so right
And we were glowing like the metal on the edge of a knife.

Are Memories Destructive?

Are memories destructive? The more I think about the more I begin to think they are.

When I ask this question I’m not referring to our ability to remember, this is vital for life and without it things become impossible, we just cannot cope with everyday life you only have to take a look at someone who suffers from advanced dementia. They can remember their childhood but not what they did 10 minutes ago, where they live or even who their family are.

What I’m talking about is our past, how we remember it and how we keep recalling it.

Clearly there are both good and bad memories, so surely the good ones are helpful and should be recalled at every opportunity to remind us of good times. I don’t think so!

Bad memories clearly are not good for us as they remind us of when things were not good, when we were unhappy, stressed or just not in a good place…definitely not good and clearly a destructive force.

So good memories must be good for us then, well not necessarily. I often see groups on sites like Facebook set up for people who used to attend places that are long gone or maybe an old school class. I for one joined a group for an old nightclub which was very active in the punk era, they had some top bands play there (Sex Pistols, The Dammed, Elvis Costello and many more). I joined as I had some fun times there, met some great people, drank a lot of beer, listened to some awesome music and when I wasn’t too drunk chased some hot girls. The members of the group spent all their time posting about how fantastic it was back then, what a great place it was and how much fun they had.

So how can this be bad for you, how does reliving these happy days become a destructive influence?

Well the problem is that suddenly you realise you are drifting into the past and compared to the present it was so much better. Today starts to look crap compared to what you had in the past, those happy memories that you are reliving are starting to taint your life today.

Basically the past is just that…The Past, leave it there. It may have been bad or it may have been great but don’t let it drag you down or yearn to go back. Don’t get me wrong it’s important to learn from the past so that we don’t repeat our mistakes.

So leave the past behind, live for today and look forward to the future!

Thanks as always

Money, get away
Get a good job with more pay and you're O.K.
Money, it's a gas
Grab that cash with both hands and make a stash
New car, caviar, four star daydream,
Think I'll buy me a football team
