Once upon a time I did more work outside - but the reality of working in the cold winters of Chicago, and the lack of "natural settings" caused me to rethink.
I've found the weather cooperates far more often when I'm working in the studio
As far as enjoying others work; as long as the images is well crafted, I enjoy almost every genre you have listed. I try to learn something from every image I see - even genres I don't tend to work in.
